Weekly Roundup: May 18-24

This past Saturdays Greenway Gear Collective Adventure Series event was a big success, bringing together 26 participants across 12 teams for a Bike Month navigation scavenger hunt in collaboration with Oaks & Spokes.

Starting at the GGC container by Lake Raleigh, riders learned basic navigation skills before heading out—without phones or GPS—to explore NC State Centennial Campus and Dorothea Dix Park using custom orienteering maps.

Over two hours, teams tackled creative clues, with some covering more than 14 miles, and four groups successfully finding every checkpoint. Brian and Dianne Thomas took first place, followed by Philip Taff and the team of Vance, Sarah, and baby Ira, who also earned youngest participant!!

On to this weeks activities!

Sunday 05/25 - The Long Shot Ride (every 4th Sunday of the month)

The Long Shot ride is led by Micaela Fox and Thomas Weybrecht coffee lovers and casual riders. The ride is intended to be a casual, longer-distance group ride exploring great coffee beyond Raleigh. Designed for riders of all levels, it’s a low-pressure way to go a little farther, try new routes, and connect with others along the way. We roll at an easy pace, stick together, and always have a solid coffee stop waiting for us.
