Weekly Roundup May 11-17

Last Thursday GGC attended the Spring Triangle Outdoor Leaders Gathering at The Boulder Garden in Durham!

The Triangle Outdoor Leaders Gathering is hosted quarterly by Triangle Outdoor Scene, bringing together leaders from across the Triangle to share ideas, talk through events, and connect around all things outdoors. It’s a great space to learn from one another and build relationships within the community.

The Boulder Garden itself was such a unique experience right in the heart of downtown Durham, it feels more like a community hub than just a bouldering gym. They host a wide range of events and classes, making it a welcoming space for all kinds of people. If you find yourself in Durham, it’s definitely worth checking out!

Now on to this weeks events: Bike Month Week #2

Thursday 5/14 - Bike to Work Day!

Join us at the The Bike Library Cafe for some free drip on your way to work! We will be located right out front of the cafe.

Friday 5/15 - Open Mic Night

Open Mic Night happens every third Friday of the month at The Bike Library! Join us for an evening of creativity and community. Whether you’d like to share a poem, sing your favorite song, play an instrument, or speak about something you’re deeply passionate about, this is your space to take the mic.

You can also enjoy matcha, iced coffee, cold brew, kombucha from KoMANA Brewing Co., a variety of teas, Jabin, and THC beverages from Trophy Brewing.

Come perform, come listen, or simply come hang out!

Saturday 5/16 - Adventure Series: Bike Navigation/Scavenger Hunt

Celebrate Bike Month with a GGC bike navigation adventure!

Join us on May 16 from 10am–1pm for a hands-on scavenger hunt across NC State Centennial Campus and Dorothea Dix Park, starting at the Greenway Gear Collective container by Lake Raleigh. We’ll teach basic navigation skills before you set out using a custom orienteering-style map – no phones or GPS, just your wits and your wheels.

Participate solo or as a team (teammates must stick together). Come ready to explore, problem-solve, and have some fun!

Ladies – do you need some self-care during this busy Bike Month? We've got you! Join us for a women/trans/femme "Self Care Sunday" ride sponsored by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance.

We'll start the day off at the Bike Library with a coffee or matcha at 10:30 (optionally, join us for 9:30am yoga at Homebody Yoga
beforehand – 10 free spots are available for free using code BIKES).

At 11, we'll take the scenic route to the Self Care Marketplace and Raleigh Raw, before heading to Raleigh City Farm where Lauren B. will give us a personal tour!

Finally, we'll ride to Blackbird Books & Coffee to pick up a new read before heading back to the Bike Library.
