Weekly Roundup: January 12-18
We had an awesome cap to the week yesterday with our Bike Maintenance Class at The Bike Library and our Hot Chocolate Ride to Escazu Chocolate!
The Bike Maintenance Class happens every second Sunday of the month. However, next month it will be Sunday February 8th at 10am at The Bike Library Container on Lake Raleigh on NC States Centennial Campus. This is a great opportunity to learn very basic bike maintenance skills and also get 1:1 time with a mechanic.
After every Bike Maintenance Class we have a themed bike ride. These rides are anywhere from 10-15 miles long and no-drop, which means they are casual and beginner friendly.

Now, on to this weeks happenings!

Saturday 01/17 at 11am - GGC Adventure Series: Orienteering and Intro to Adventure Racing
Back for a second year, the first half of 2026 the Greenway Gear Collective Adventure Series will focus on Adventure Race themed outings. Each event will focus on one of the disciplines of adventure racing: traditionally mountain biking, orienteering (map and compass navigation), and paddling (canoe or kayak). The series will build skills in advance of a local practice 3-hour adventure race in May and the option to register and participate in a 5-hour adventure race hosted by Broad Run Offroad on either (or both) June 13 & 14 at Lake Anna State Park in Spotsylvania, VA: https://www.broadrunoffroad.org/summer-sizzle-adventure-race
For more information on adventure racing, check out the US Adventure Racing Association website: https://www.usara.com/
GGC Adventure Series events will take place at or around Lake Raleigh and be led by Debra and Jeff Rezeli, who have 11 years of adventure racing experience and have held the #1 USARA ranking for two-person coed teams.
