Fundraiser Recap + Current Efforts + Weekend Events

Fundraiser Event
Last night was our Pedals, Pints, and Popcorn event at Crank Arm Brewing. It was awesome! This event was planned in large part by the Consult Your Community team at NC State. Big thank you to Jacob Garner, Amanda Irvin, and the entire team who made this happen. This event set the precedent for future fundraiser events.

Current Projects
The GGC team is working on two major projects right now:
- Tactical Urbanism Partnership with the City of Raleigh - We are working with the City to develop sanctioned (approved) quick-build infrastructure projects that will improve the multimodal experience in Raleigh. We have met with one City councilmember so far, and have another meeting on the schedule to get this idea in front of the Transportation & Transit committee.
- Multimodal Academy - We are also developing a 6-week "multimodal academy" aimed at bringing bike + bus transit within reach for more people. The structure of the academy is modeled after the City of Raleigh's Planning Academy. By the end of the academy, participants will have the knowledge, confidence, and hands-on experience to navigate the city without a car.
Weekend Events
This past weekend we had an awesome Bike Maintenance workshop and a great turnout for the Favorite Tree ride.

This upcoming weekend, we are having two events, both in the Calendar tab on this site:
- Adventure Series: Greenway Circumnavigation Ride hosted by Debra and Jeff.
Details: Saturday @ 10 AM at The Bike Library. Bring your own bike (road bike recommended) or rent one from The Bike Library for a full loop around Raleigh on the greenway system. While this will be a no-drop ride, some biking experience and reasonable fitness level is recommended as you can expect a 3-4 hour outing. Please bring enough water and nutrition for the ride and a helmet is required. - NABR – Not A Bike Ride: This new run club is hosted by Josh Grassel as a way to get more people running around the trails by Lake Raleigh. Inspired by last fall's Adventure Series trail run, he wanted to make it a weekly event.
Details: Sunday @ 9 AM at The Bike Library. Bring water and running shoes!
That's about it. Remember to submit your guest pieces to greenwaygearcollective@gmail.com to be featured on Fridays!
