Weekly Roundup March 9-15
We gained 6+ Sustained GGC Members this weekend!! If you are one them, welcome!
What an eventful weekend it was!
GGC helped to support the fems and thems bike maintenance class at The Bike Library this past Saturday. Debra and Lauren guided participants through the bike ABCs (Air, Brakes, Chain), covering what to check before, during, and after a ride.
Participants had the chance to get hands-on with their own bikes, working together to learn practical skills like fixing a dropped chain and changing a flat tire.
The best part of these classes is seeing the moment when something clicks. Questions get answered, concerns disappear, and riders leave feeling more confident caring for their bikes.

After the class, riders gathered for a Women’s History Month Ride through downtown Raleigh that highlighted several women-owned businesses in the area. The roughly 14-mile route started and ended at The Bike Library and included stops past spots like BaySix, Homebody, Wye Hill, Yellow Dog, Escazu, Yacht Club, and Willow House, among others.

Sunday at the container we had our monthly free bike maintenance class led by one of our GGC Bike Mechanics. The class goes over the basics of bike maintenance and allows participants to get hands on with their own bikes.
Now on to this week!

Not too much to elaborate on this week on our end. BUT if you are interested in volunteering at the container on NC States Centennial Campus on Lake Raleigh here is the link to sign up.
As a volunteer you will work alongside a GGC Bike Mechanic to work on walk up bike repairs, share about GGC memberships, and manage bike rentals.
It's a good time!
