Weekly Roundup: January 19-25

This past Saturday we had the first Adventure Series event of 2026!

If you missed it the GGC Adventure Series will focus on Adventure Race themed outings. Each event will focus on one of the disciplines of adventure racing: traditionally mountain biking, orienteering (map and compass navigation), and paddling (canoe or kayak).

The series will build skills in advance of a local practice 3-hour adventure race in May and the option to register and participate in a 5-hour adventure race hosted by Broad Run Offroad on either (or both) June 13 & 14 at Lake Anna State Park in Spotsylvania, VA. GGC Adventure Series events will take place at or around Lake Raleigh and be led by Debra and Jeff Rezeli, who have 11 years of adventure racing experience and have held the #1 USARA ranking for two-person coed teams.

Monday 01/19 - MLK Ride to Unhinged Coffee Co in Knightdale

We will meet at The Bike Library Cafe at 9am to ride over to Knightdale to visit our friends at Unhinged Coffee Co.! The round trip is roughly 31 miles. It will be mostly greenway and will be no-drop. Here is the route on Strava.

Wednesday 01/21 - Camp Digital Meet Up (Collaging and Intention Setting)

This is a casual meet up at The Bike Library Cafe at 9am with Camp Digital! They are looking for creatives in the community who specialize in videography, photography, and modeling. This is a great opportunity to learn more about what they are all about as well as set some intentions for 2026 through a collage vision board!

Friday 01/23 - Watercolor Series Session #3

There is still time to join the watercolor series! These classes will be held 6-7:30pm at The Bike Library Cafe the remainder of Fridays in January. There are 2 classes left in the series and these classes will be centered around creating a watercolor piece with the support of your instructor Mark Whittock (car-free Raleigh resident). Saturday 01/24 - Feedback Session for a Sidewalk Mural at TBL!

Join us for an interactive community brainstorming session for a possible sidewalk mural outside of The Bike Library Cafe at 10am. The session will be led by Tavyn Lovitt (local artist and art teacher) and Sabrina Hurtado (a Raleigh-local artist).

Sunday 01/25 - Onward PT Bike Ride

Join us at 12pm for a casual ~10 mile greenway bike ride celebrating Onward PTs anniversary! The ride will end at Onward PT for some refreshments and pelvic health and ortho injury screens, spinal adjustments, and recovery work! Here is the route on Strava.
