Weekly Roundup February 16-22
Huge shoutout to those who attended the Matcha Class and Trivia Night last week at The Bike Library! Both events were a huge success, here's what you missed:

At the Matcha Class Hira from Kiko Cafe walked all the participants through how to make an iced matcha latte. There were different syrups, milks, and cold foams to choose from.

Hira also baked some yummy matcha inspired deserts like match tiramisu, matcha whoopie pies, and matcha chocolate covered strawberries!! Participants got to enjoy the treats and their lattes while Hira offered a short history lesson on matcha's origin.

Trivia Night was another fun event hosted at The Bike Library last week. Clayson Shumway, a local trivia host and trivia feen hosted the event with some pretty interesting questions. Brain juices were flowing and team work was truly engaged. Maybe this should be a regular thing?

Now on to the good stuff, what's happening this week?

Friday 2/20 - Open Mic Night at the TBL Cafe
Open Mic Night happens every third Friday of the month at The Bike Library! Join us for an evening of creativity and community. Whether you’d like to share a poem, sing your favorite song, play an instrument, or speak about something you’re deeply passionate about, this is your space to take the mic. You can also enjoy matcha, iced coffee, cold brew, kombucha from KoMANA Brewing Co., a variety of teas, Jabin, and THC beverages from Trophy Brewing. Come perform, come listen, or simply come hang out!
Saturday 2/21 - Jazz Night at the TBL Cafe
TBL live jazz nights don’t follow a regular schedule (yet), which makes them a special treat every time they pop up. Join us for an evening of live music from talented local musicians, great vibes, and time well spent with community. Sip on beverages listed above while you enjoy the music.
Sunday 2/22 - The Bike Library Taco Ride starting at the TBL Cafe
Join us for the Bike Library Taco Ride on Sunday, February 22, 2026, with a start time of 10:00 AM. Your ride leader with be Tim Pflaum. We’ll roll out from The Bike Library (street parking available nearby), so please arrive early and be ready to ride at 10am, we’re aiming to be off the trails by around 1:00 PM.
The ride is a 24-mile, no-drop, chill-and-enjoy-the-scenery route at a planned pace of 10–12 MPH, and riders should feel comfortable maintaining at least 10 MPH for about 2½ hours.
The route is 100% paved and about 90% greenway, with some city streets mixed in. We’ll head out-and-back to Anderson Point along the Neuse River Trail (route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53976834), with facilities at Worthdale Park, Anderson Point, and additional stops as needed for water and bio breaks. Road bikes and hybrids are great options for this ride.
Please bring enough food and hydration to keep you going. Drink water before the ride, bring plenty (two bottles if possible), and sip often along the way. Sunscreen is highly encouraged, and make sure you bring fully charged front and rear lights (flash mode helps the ride leader keep track of everyone). Post-ride, we may swing by Campo Taco on the way back before returning to TBL. It’s going to be a great morning on the bike!
Looking Ahead:
